17th May 2020
In light of the announcement yesterday by the Prime Minister , UK Chief Medical Officer and the UK Chief Scientific Advisor , The NSEA has taken the reluctant decision to cancel all events with immediate effect for the coming 8 weeks . We will review the position on a rolling basis to keep members updated .
The Government has advised against the following in order to reduce the stress on the NHS
-All un-necessary travel
-Avoid social gatherings
We have also been advised that the NHS may not be able to come to our aid at sporting fixtures, which makes our position un-tenable. Many of the Paramedics who support the NSEA competitions work in the NHS and it is important that we play our part in supporting them.
We would hope that Show Organisers ( who received the entry fee ) will provide full refunds to all of our members , subject to the administrative charges set out in the competitions term and conditions
These are unprecedented times and we thank you for your cooperation but we are left with no option but to comply in full with the government’s advice.
We wish everybody well in the weeks and months ahead and will run the administrative function of the NSEA as best we can, to support with advice and updates as we keep this situation under review.
WE will re-schedule as many events as possible for later in the year and have already made provision for the National County Dressage & Show Jumping Championships. Subsequent Championships are being monitored and we will keep members updated with changes as soon as we can.
A new Pop up dressage series for members to take part in at home will be announced shortly. This may include dates for Championships Dressage Qualifiers.
Stay safe and we hope to see you back in action very soon.
